John Hill presents the dance music of Ireland adapted to the modern mandolin.
Born on "the other side" in Belfast at the tail end of the Troubles, this traditional music was always kept at arm's length. Since embracing it after moving to Rotterdam, Mr. Hill has developed a repertoire that pairs tunes with their histories and the stories of the people who played them.
With music as equally suited to large modern performance halls as to the small back rooms of yesteryear, he is now available for bookings.
